VIT Snow event planning summary

Posted on January 20, 2018 · Posted in TMTA Flash
Good morning colleagues,

  1. The current forecast indicates a snow event that will produce approximately ½” to 1” of accumulation on the pavements and 2” on the grass at the terminals in Hampton Roads from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm.  Air and pavement temps will be favorable for the effectiveness of pre-emptive salt.  Therefore, operations are planned to continue throughout the snow event.
  2. The operational pavements and pedestrian areas have been pre-treated and will be treated throughout the snow event.
  3. For employees not directly involved in terminal operations, any decision for an early release on Wednesday AND/OR a late report time on Thursday will be communicated based on conditions.
  4. The Richmond Marine Terminal expects the same basic temperature conditions, except the snow amount is forecast to be 2”.
  5. The Richmond Marine Terminal leadership expects to continue operations and monitor conditions, with a decision to suspend operations if conditions warrant.
