Relocation of Reefer Temperature Check Service Area at VIG
Trucking Partners,
An online version of this message can be found here: Relocation of Reefer Temperature Check Service Area at VIG
At Virginia International Gateway (VIG), we are pleased to announce an important change in the handling of refrigerated/reefer containers.
Effective Monday, July 20, 2020, reefer temperature checks will be relocated:
- When bringing in a loaded reefer for export, drivers will proceed to lane 4 (southernmost lane), under the Chassis Service Area (CSA) canopy, to have their reefer temperature checked (see image below)
- When directed, the driver will pull forward under the canopy, stopping before the lowered gate arm, to receive service
- Over-the-road drivers must remain inside the cab, with the truck in PARK, while being serviced
- Drivers may depart as directed by the terminal team, once the gate arm is raised
- When the temperature check is completed, the driver will traverse through the CSA and queue up in the existing genset mount/dis-mount lanes
If you, or your drivers, have questions about this change, please contact our Customer Service Team at 757-440-7160, or povcustomerservice@vit.org.
Thank you for your business.
