Dropping Bare Chassis at Norfolk International Terminals

Posted on July 28, 2019 · Posted in TMTA Flash

Trucking Partners,

The message below was originally delivered in late June. The problem persists and we would appreciate your support in addressing this with your drivers.

ON BEHALF OF THE HRCP TEAM:

In recent weeks, a significant number of bare chassis have been dropped in proximity to the control tower at Norfolk International Terminals (NIT). This is contrary to terminal policy and presents an obstacle to efficient operations. If this practice continues, it may result in the billing of repositioning fees to specific trucking companies.

As a reminder, all bare chassis at NIT are to be dropped in the 700 area at NIT North.

Thank you for your support and for your business.

Regards,

Gregory J. Edwards
